Someone told me it's all happening at the Zoo.

Metrozoo in Miami is a great zoo and a great place to go if you want to take pictures of animals in a near-natural habitat.

The tiger sits calm and majestic.

An Indian elephant tries to ignore the heat.

A Florida staple: Flamingos!

The white-handed Gibbon was flying through the trees.

The lion is just a big pussycat.

The peacock stands at attention.

The Sunbear was up a tree and no dogs chasing him.

The tapir was always one of my son's favorite animals when he was little.

The wise and ancient tortoise was on the move despite the heat.

1984

A news alert from the NYT:

Senate Votes to Broaden Government's Spying Powers

By a vote of 68 to 29, the Senate gave final approval to a
bill that expands the government's spying powers and gives
legal protection to phone companies that cooperated in
President Bush's warrantless eavesdropping program.

I want to know who those 68 senators are. I'd be worried about the ghosts of Franklin and Jefferson paying them a visit some dark night. All Americans should be appalled by this craven act.
