The Right Thing

I found this quote from Dr. King on the Salish Kootenai College website. SKC is a tribal college in Pablo, Montana.

"Cowardice asks the question, 'Is it safe?
Expediency asks the question, 'Is it politic?'
Vanity asks the question, 'Is it popular?'
But, conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?'

And there comes a time when one must take a position

These words were never truer than they are now. All Americans, not just potential presidential candidates, need to ask whether we are headed in the "right" (meaning correct) direction as a nation. If we aren't. what can we do about it?
