Noted Weatherman Dies

And in other news, noted weatherman, Al Sleet, died yesterday. The crusty old, "hippy dippy" weatherman, had been telling America which way the wind was blowing (and who was doing the blowing) for decades.

It must be an interesting time in heaven: first Tim Russert and now George Carlin.

Carlin was really nice in person. I used to see him when I lived on the Upper West Side in the 80s. Once when I was buying only milk at the old Red Apple supermarket on Broadway at 83rd St. (long since replaced by some ultra-expensive national chain fashion store), he let me go ahead of him on the checkout line! He was really unpretentious and very much like the nice screen image in person as well. And law school students will always know him from FCC v. Pacifica Foundation!

my all-time favorite bit, was baseball vs. football..."the object of baseball: is to go home"...
